General
Is the theme free?
The theme is sold through the Shopify Theme Store. Pricing and trial details are listed on the theme's Theme Store page. Once you purchase the theme, you can use it on the store you purchased it for.
Can I use the theme on multiple stores?
The Shopify Theme Store license covers one store per purchase. To use the theme on additional stores, purchase additional licenses.
Does the theme work with the latest Shopify features?
The theme is built on Shopify's Online Store 2.0 architecture and supports JSON templates, theme app extensions, sections everywhere, app blocks (in supported sections), and Shopify Markets.
What languages does the theme support?
The theme ships with locale files for English, Dutch, German, French, and Spanish. The locale files cover theme strings only (button labels, form messages, navigation text). Your own content (product titles, descriptions, page text) is translated separately through the Translate and Adapt app or another Shopify-native translation tool.
Does the theme work with Shopify Markets?
Yes. The theme uses Shopify's standard money filters and request.locale data, so multi-currency pricing and multi-language content work as expected when you configure Markets.
Customization
Can I customize colors and fonts?
Yes, through Customize > Theme settings. Colors are organized into color schemes that can be applied per-section. Typography includes heading and body font selectors with weight, size, and line height controls.
Can I add my own CSS or JavaScript?
You can edit theme files directly in the code editor, but those edits do not survive theme updates. For changes you want to keep across updates, use:
- Theme settings (colors, typography, spacing).
- Section settings (per-section visual options).
- App embeds for site-wide scripts (analytics, chat widgets).
Does the theme support drag-and-drop section reordering?
Yes. In Customize, you can reorder, add, remove, and configure sections on every template through Shopify's standard drag-and-drop editor.
Can I create a multi-column layout?
Yes. The theme includes a multicolumn section, image-with-text section, and Group block that can hold other blocks. See sections-flexible and sections-content for details.
How do I change the home page layout?
Open Customize, make sure you are on the home page (Index template), and use Add section to add or Reorder sections to rearrange the home page.
Products and collections
How do I add product reviews?
The theme does not include a reviews system. Install a Shopify reviews app (Shopify Product Reviews, Judge.me, Loox, Yotpo, Stamped, or another). Most reviews apps install via app block on the product page or via app embed.
Can I show inventory levels?
Yes, on the product page through the inventory block. The block displays inventory messaging such as "In stock", "Low stock", or "Out of stock" depending on inventory settings and availability.
The values come from Shopify's real inventory data, not a fake urgency device.
Does the theme support product subscriptions?
Yes. The product page renders Shopify's selling plan UI when a product has subscription plans assigned. Customers see a one-time purchase option, a subscription option, and a frequency selector. To enable subscription billing, install Shopify Subscriptions or a compatible subscription app.
Can I show product variants as color swatches?
Yes. In the variant picker, the theme automatically renders swatches for variant options labeled "color", "colour", "farbe" (German), "couleur" (French), or "colore" (Italian). Other options render as buttons or a dropdown.
How do I show a sale countdown?
Use the countdown timer feature in supported sections. The countdown displays a real merchant-set date, stops at zero, does not reset, and does not loop. It is not a fake scarcity device.
Can I display "compare at" prices?
Yes. When a product has a Compare-at price set in Shopify higher than the current price, the theme renders the original price struck through and the discount badge or percentage off (where the section supports it).
How many products can I show on a collection page?
The Products per page setting accepts values from 8 to 36, default 16. The pagination type setting offers traditional page numbers, load more button, or infinite scroll (with a fallback after 10 pages).
Cart and checkout
Does the theme have a cart drawer?
Yes. Clicking the cart icon in the header opens a slide-in drawer with the cart contents, free shipping bar (optional), cart note (optional), and checkout button. The cart page at /cart is also available for customers who navigate to it directly.
Does the theme support a free shipping progress bar?
Yes. Configure the threshold in the cart drawer settings. The bar shows progress toward the threshold and updates as items are added or removed.
Can customers add a note to their order?
Yes, through the cart note feature. Enable Show cart note in the cart drawer or cart page settings.
Does the theme support accelerated checkout (Shop Pay, PayPal, etc.)?
Yes. Accelerated checkout buttons appear on the product page (via the buy buttons block) and on the cart page. Which buttons appear is controlled by your Shopify Payments settings, not the theme. See apps-integrations for details.
Does the theme support gift wrapping or order add-ons?
Not as a built-in feature. Use a Shopify gift wrap or add-on app, most of which install via app block on the cart or product page.
Apps and integrations
Which apps are required?
None. The theme is fully functional without any apps installed. However, some features depend on apps:
- Filters on collection and search pages: require Shopify Search and Discovery (free, by Shopify).
- Product reviews: require a reviews app of your choice.
- Subscriptions: require Shopify Subscriptions or another subscription app.
- Email marketing: require an email tool (Shopify Email, Klaviyo, Mailchimp, etc.) for advanced campaigns. Newsletter signups go to your customer list by default.
Which apps work with the theme?
The theme supports app blocks (theme app extensions) in six sections: Product, Featured product, Cart, Complementary products, Promotion grid, and Rich text. App embeds (site-wide widgets) work everywhere through Shopify's standard content_for_header mechanism. See apps-integrations for details.
Does the theme work with Klaviyo?
Yes. Klaviyo's app embeds and forms work alongside the theme. Replace or supplement the theme's newsletter section with Klaviyo's form block on pages where you want Klaviyo's form instead.
Does the theme work with my custom checkout extension?
Checkout extensions run inside Shopify's checkout, separate from the theme. The theme has no control over checkout appearance or behavior. Checkout extensibility is a Shopify Plus feature.
Performance and SEO
Is the theme fast?
The theme uses lazy-loaded images, deferred JavaScript, and optimized asset delivery. Real-world performance depends on your image sizes, the number of installed apps, and any third-party scripts. Run a Lighthouse audit to measure your store's performance.
Does the theme support structured data?
Yes. The theme outputs JSON-LD structured data for Organization, WebSite, Product (via Shopify's product | structured_data filter), CollectionPage, Article, Blog, WebPage, and SearchResultsPage. See seo-social-sharing for details.
Does the theme generate a sitemap?
Shopify generates the sitemap automatically at /sitemap.xml. The theme does not generate it.
How do I optimize my Open Graph previews?
Set a Search engine listing description and image for each product, collection, page, and article in your Shopify admin. Use landscape images at least 1200 by 630 pixels for best preview rendering on Facebook, LinkedIn, and Twitter (X).
Accessibility
Is the theme accessible?
The theme includes accessibility features aligned with WCAG 2.1 Level AA guidelines: keyboard navigation, focus indicators, ARIA labels and live regions, semantic landmarks, reduced-motion support, skip-to-content link, and screen reader-friendly form errors. See accessibility for details.
Is my store automatically accessible after installing?
The theme provides accessibility infrastructure, but accessibility is shared responsibility. Content you publish (alt text, link text, color contrast on customized colors, video captions) also affects accessibility. Test your store with a keyboard and a screen reader before launch.
Can I disable animations for users who prefer reduced motion?
The theme automatically respects the customer's operating system "Reduce motion" setting. There is no theme-level toggle; the behavior follows the customer's preference.
Updates and support
How do I update the theme?
When an update is available, Add latest version appears on your theme in Online Store > Themes. Add the new version, test it in Customize, and publish when ready. Your previous version remains in your theme library as a rollback option. See theme-updates for details.
Will my customizations survive an update?
Theme settings, section content, and translations are preserved. Direct edits to .liquid, .css, or .js files do not transfer. See theme-updates for the full list.
How do I get support?
See support-policy for support channels, response times, and scope.
Where are release notes published?
Release notes are published with each theme release in our public release notes. The current release notes are also bundled with the theme files.
Things to know
- The theme is feature-rich but not infinite. Some features (saved carts, account wishlists, real-time stock notifications, customer-uploaded files, advanced loyalty programs) are not built in and require a Shopify app.
- Most "the theme is broken" issues are caused by apps. Disable third-party apps one at a time before assuming a theme bug. See troubleshooting for the systematic approach.
- Translations work at the platform level. The theme provides translatable strings for theme UI, but merchant content is translated through Shopify, not through theme files.
- App support is separate from theme support. The theme works with most Shopify apps, but each app's behavior is the app developer's responsibility. For app-specific issues, contact the app developer first.
